Dreaming about summer… (and a bit of appreciation for winter)

Summer in Nissequogue

Just a quick post today. I took this photo last summer in Nissequogue, New York while visiting a friend of a friend’s house on the beach. It’s crazy how different life is in the winter versus the summer. I feel like in the winter all I do is hole up and work, while in the summer I am a complete slacker. There’s always an invitation to brunch, drinks on someone’s rooftop, a weekend getaway or a day trip to the beach.

So even though I miss summer, I guess I’m thankful for the cold weather for keeping me motivated.

How do people who live in paradise ever get anything done?

I’m a complete slacker in the summer too.. it’s hard to want to work when I have the beach right next to me and it’s sunny and 80 outside!

It would be very tough in paradise. Summers just winding down here and my social calendar is becoming less full. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather but not the less social lifestyle.

I am happy to be missing the terrible winter North America has been dealt! We just Skyped my family a few days ago and my jaw dropped when I saw the chunk of snow covering their yard! Yuck!
