The Palace of Versailles is a bit out of the way for Paris travelers, but it should absolutely not be missed. It was one of the most amazing attractions I visited during my trip, probably because it is one of the most ridiculous examples of decadent royal wealth that exists. Everything at Versailles is covered in gold and there are extravagant chandeliers, embellished decorations and famous works of art everywhere.
